Bright, coral-pink raised pustules appear on the branches of woody shrubs and trees.
Cause
A fungus which mainly lives on dead wood, although it it may also live on live wood. The fungus enters the wood via a wound in the plant. It is spread by splashes from rain or watering.
Harm
A devastating disease which causes die-back and will eventually kill the plant if it is not treated quickly.
Treatment
The only thing that is effective is to cut out the infected areas. Make sure you prune out into the healthy wood. Burn infected parts.
